previous method - customer fabricated support track to support extremely
heavy impact wrench - caused problems with improper torque
and thread galling. It was also unsafe and time consuming.
Solution: Patented
Superbolt Mechanical
Tensioners were easily installed with common air tools as seen
in the picture
(torque should be verified with a torque wrench).
Proper bolt load with no thread galling is achieved.
Tension on bolt
= 428,400 lb.
Equivalent Hex
Nut Torque = 18,925 ft-lb
Jackbolt Torque
= 233 ft-lb |
