P&H 4100A Power Shovel
 Problem:
Large bolting on sideframe to car body, ring gear, and cable drum bearing was difficult to properly prestress with standard bolting methods. Ring gears have traditionally had the potential of loosening and rounding out holes.
Solution:
The side frames were tightened inside the car body due to ease of using hand tools. Ring gear bolts were highly tensioned eliminating movement of the joint. Cable drum bearing splits were easily tightened in an awkward location.
